Google Instant for Fast Search

Google is always trying to improve their search engine with various facilities to provide satisfaction to its users. Their latest innovation is Google Instant, new facility to help people reduce time to search.

When you are using Google in Google Instant, the search results automatically pop up as you’re typing, complete with auto correcting. You can scroll up and down to each selection and the page will automatically update to reflect what would happen if you had actually searched for that. Google says it’s not exactly “search as you type”, but they predict what you’re likely to type and bring you results for that, instead of the half-of-a-word you only typed.

Google Instant

Google claimed that using Google Instant can save 2-5 seconds per search. It’s nice feature because you don’t need to worry about wrong type or must remember all strings that you want to search. Just put some search and Google will predict what do you want to search and also show the result as you type

Here are few feature of Google Instant from Google Blog

  • Dynamic Results – Google dynamically displays relevant search results as you type so you can quickly interact and click through to the web content you need.
  • Predictions – One of the key technologies in Google Instant is that we predict the rest of your query (in light gray text) before you finish typing. See what you need? Stop typing, look down and find what you’re looking for.
  • Scroll to search – Scroll through predictions and see results instantly for each as you arrow down.
